The anniversary of the Battle of Almansa is upon us again. In the wake of the victory of the Borbonic troops of the Duke of Berwick, the regions of Aragon and Valencia would once more fall under the control of King Philip V of Spain, and any attempts of the Allies to retake them would be....fleeting. The memory of that great Spanish victory is alive today - in most towns and cities in the country you will find a "Calle Almansa", or "Almansa Street".
